Summary[]

Jof the Cat pricks his finger while sewing, and rushes to the hospital to get treated. Several doctors examine Jof for everything, except his injury.

Plot[]

Jof the Cat sits in his living room, sewing a needlepoint mouse, when he accidentally pricks his finger on the needle. He screams in pain, and rushes out the door towards the city hospital. After entering the massive building, he tries finding a doctor to help him. Jof gets lost for a while, and encounters some surgeons making patients on stretchers crash into each other. Eventually, Jof reaches a general practitioner's office. The doctor and his trio of medical assistants laugh at Jof's injury and plea for help, but tie up Jof and drag him into the exam room.

The GP conducts a blood pressure test and has Jof take a deep breath in and out. Jof's breath out blows off the hair from the doctor's face. The GP takes some notes, then summons the medical assistants, who drag Jof into a dentist's office. The dentist then climbs into Jof's mouth to examine his teeth, and emerges with a tusk. Jof tries escaping, but the dentist summons the assistants, who again, drag Jof to another office. The cardiologist puts EKG monitors on Jof and forces him to run on a treadmill that rapidly picks up speed. Jof runs away and is chased by the assistants into the X-Ray room. The radiologist makes Jof drink a giant cup of water, then get behind the X-Ray monitor. Jof drinks the water too fast, and keeps hiccupping, causing the image to change. The radiologist gets angry and summons the assistants again. The assistants tie up Jof with bandages, and leave him on a motorized stretcher, but start torturing other patients in other stretchers, causing them to be launched through the ceiling. Jof is launched down the stairs in the chaos, and lands in the arms of a surgeon. Jof asks the surgeon for help, and the surgeon takes a long look at Jof's pricked finger, then brings him to a room. He gently puts Jof's injured finger on a pillow and gives Jof a magazine to read. Jof is happy that someone will finally help him, until he notices the surgeon is sharpening an axe. Jof panics, jumps out the window, and runs off down the street.

Some time later, Jof is at home, doing more needlepoint after his finger healed on its own. He accidentally pricks his finger again. But, he wraps his tail around his mouth to keep from screaming, not wanting to let anyone know he needs help.
